Only a 14-minute drive from Chateau Bourgeoisie, just 11.8 kilometres away
you reach the beautiful Renaissance city of Bar-Le-Duc.

Bar-le-Duc, a sumptuous Renaissance town
The label Ville d'Art et d'Histoire certainly does not suit Bar-le-Duc.
The magnificent, unique architectural heritage and the atmosphere evoked by events like the RenaissanceS festival place this manageable city high on the list of France's Most Beautiful Detours. The historic Ville Haute district is just as surprising as the lower-lying Ville Basse shopping district, which is crossed by two rivers and boasts interesting features...

Upper Town,
almost untouched Renaissance
Step back in time with a stroll through the Ville Haute district, where the Renaissance is exquisitely preserved. Unique in France, the ochre-colored alleyways lined with mansions boasting elegant stone facades. Carved pediments, tall windows, and a variety of gutter systems—the architectural details of the Renaissance have miraculously survived the test of time. Not far from the Clock Tower stands the church of Saint-Étienne, home to the "Transi" by sculptor Ligier Richier.

and the STEEGE - GEERTS family does everything they can to welcome their guests with the utmost care and in style during their stay in the extremely well-maintained Castle.
'Sweet France...'
The new owners, Steve and Maurice, were able to purchase the castle during their careers in the hospitality industry. The couple has been successfully active in the hospitality sector since 2015.
At the height of their career, after the TV broadcasts on VTM 'Met4inBed' in JULY 2023, they decided to accept the offer to buy a Chateau in France in the Lorraine region.
The duo is passionate about antique and rustic interiors, which is why they instantly fell in love with the style of the beautiful castle...

Good food in Lorraine
Nancy's Bergamot
Nancy Bergamot is a candy with an inimitable flavor. It was the first candy in France to receive a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).
This square, transparent, golden yellow sour candy owes its flavor to bergamot oil, an essential oil from Calabria that was brought to Nancy by the Dukes of Lorraine, René of Anjou and René II, long before 1750.
Bergamot used to be the favorite candy of Stanisław Leszczyński, also a Duke of Lorraine. By the end of the 19th century, it had become the specialty of many Nancy candy makers. Where to buy Nancy's authentic bergamot candies
In Lorraine, only four confectioners make the one and only Bergamot of Nancy, with the IGP label. They therefore meticulously respect the production process of this confection.
