Chef Maurice's kitchen at the Chateau of Laimont…

Chef Maurice's kitchen doesn't start at the stove, but already with the shopping.

Between the counter and a chat at the local butcher, inspiration is born when a beautiful piece of meat is carefully selected.

Whether it is a refined pork filet mignon or a tender beef roast —

The choice follows the eye, the feeling, and the mood of the moment.

Burgundian dining is in our blood:

An honest piece of meat, accompanied by a rich, balanced sauce, entirely homemade, with respect for the product.

Even though spring still holds the landscape in its chilly grip, the proud male peacock 'Nolan' of the Château cannot be held back. With feathers spread wide and sparkling splendor, he attempts to win hearts —

those of his beloved and those of every passerby.

The gardens of the Château of Laimont stretch out after their long winter sleep.

Beneath the still cool earth, spring whispers its promise:

Daffodils hesitantly reveal their golden-yellow glances, and the tulips betray themselves with delicate, green tips in the borders.

Soon, when spring lays its soft mantle over the land,

visitors from near and far will find their way to this place again,

to be enchanted by the floral splendor and the play of colors.

The restoration and operation of the Chateau is greatly appreciated by the residents of Laimont.

The gentlemen also feel truly at home in the Meuse region. The inhabitants are friendly and open-hearted, but the duo are naturally friendly towards the residents themselves, and that has allowed them to fully integrate into the charming town.

As a result, the Chateau of Laimont, as a historic building, is not only situated as a location in the HEART of Lorraine, but above all, it lies in the HEART of the villagers...

Just a 14-minute drive from Chateau Bourgeoisie, barely 11.8 kilometers away.

you reach the beautiful Renaissance city of Bar-Le-Duc.

Bar-le-Duc, opulent Renaissance city

The label Ville d'Art et d'Histoire suits Bar-le-Duc perfectly.

The magnificent, unique built heritage and the atmosphere evoked by events such as the RenaissanceS festival place this manageable city high on the list of the Most Beautiful Detours in France. The historic Ville Haute district is just as surprising as the lower-lying shopping district of Ville Basse, which is traversed by two rivers and has interesting features...

Upper Town

almost pristine Renaissance

Step back in time during a walk through the Ville Haute district, where the Renaissance is kept alive in an outstanding manner. Unique in France are the ochre-colored alleys lined with mansions featuring elegant natural stone facades. Elaborate pediments, high windows, and all kinds of gargoyles—the architectural peculiarities of the Renaissance have miraculously withstood the test of time. Not far from the Clock stands the church of Saint-Etienne with the 'Transi' by sculptor Ligier Richier.

    Good food in Lorraine

    Nancy's bergamot

Nancy's bergamot is a candy with an inimitable taste. It was the first candy in France with a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).

This square, transparent, golden-yellow sour candy owes its flavor to bergamot oil, an essential oil from Calabria that arrived in Nancy long before the year 1750 through the Dukes of Lorraine, René of Anjou and René II.

Bergamot used to be the favorite candy of Stanislas Leszczynski, also a Duke of Lorraine. Towards the end of the 19th century, it became the specialty of many candy makers in Nancy. Points of sale for the one and only authentic bergamot candies from Nancy

In Lorraine, only four confectioners produce the one and only genuine bergamot from Nancy with the IGP label. They therefore respect the production method of this confectionery down to the smallest detail.
