The Castle 'Chateau Bourgeoisie' originally the Chateau de Laimont dates from the 13th Century and is located in the small French village of 'Laimont' located in the Lorraine region of France.
The castle is a two-hour drive from the B&B Bourgeoisie*** accommodation that the DUO Steve & Maurice have been operating since 2015 in Frahan in Belgium.

Chef 'Maurice' has enjoyed a long career as a Chef in a previous life and now, as Castle Owner, he is more than happy to show off his cooking skills in the Castle.
The Ridderzaal is also suitable for hosting Receptions / Birthday Parties / Communion & Weddings / Seminars & Team Building for companies.
The Castle works together with a nearby hotel to increase the capacity of overnight guests to approximately 50 people. Delicious buffets are provided for larger groups: Soups / Snacks / Meat & Fish buffets / Salad bar - Cheese buffet - Dessert buffet...

Since JULY 13, 2023, the Castle has been baptized 'CHATEAU BOURGEOISIE' and the STEEGE - GEERTS Family does everything they can to welcome their guests with the utmost care and in style while staying in the extremely well-maintained Castle.
'Sweet France...'
The new owners Steve & Maurice were able to purchase the Castle during their career in the Hotel industry. The couple has been successfully running the B&B Bourgeoisie accommodation in FRAHAN in the Belgian Ardennes for about ten years. They decided in JULY 2023 to accept the proposal to buy a Chateau in France in the Lorraine region. They now operate a 'Chambres d'hôtes' at both locations in Belgium and France.
The duo is passionate about Antique and Rustic interiors, which is why they immediately fell in love with the Style in the beautiful castle...

Nancy's bergamot
Nancy bergamot is a sweet with an inimitable taste. It was the first sweet in France with a Protected Geographical Indication (IGP).
This square, transparent, golden-yellow pickle owes its taste to bergamot oil, an essential oil from Calabria that ended up in Nancy long before 1750 by the Dukes of Lorraine René of Anjou and René II.
Bergamot used to be the favorite sweet of Stanislas Leszczynski, also a Duke of Lorraine. By the end of the 19th century it became the specialty of many sweet makers in Nancy. Points of sale for Nancy's one and only bergamot sweets
In Lorraine, only four sweet makers make the one and only Nancy bergamot with the IGP label. They therefore respect the production method of this candy down to the last detail.

Bergère de France, located in Bar-le-Duc on 40,000 m² of space, is one of the largest and most competitive spinning mills in Europe. The guided visit presents the various workshops, from the arrival of the material, the manufacture of the spheres, to the assembly line preparation of the packages. - Possibility of purchase in the factory shop, at the end of the guided visit. ECUREY POLES OF THE FUTURE
Old art and ornament foundry transformed into a pilot center for 'good living in a rural environment' with a museological space, a first-class cultural program and agricultural activities (nettle, vegetable growing). The public can explore this 9 hectare site along a landscaped road which runs through the former abbey and factory. This route also takes you to the cast mold warehouse with an exceptional collection of cast iron models. Exhibition about the history of this place and the 'Pays Barrois'.
Guided tours are organized on Sundays and upon reservation. Also a shop with regional products. Audio guides available in French, German and English. The children receive a discovery suitcase.

DUVERRE D’ARGONNE MUSEUM

MUSEUM OF SACRED ART
The Museum of Sacred Art has a permanent collection of works purchased by the Conseil Général and collects religious objects scattered in village churches in the area. The museum is located in the abbey where almost 9,000 manuscripts from the Benedictine library are kept.

The Benedictine library was completed around 1775 and contains almost 8,783 works, including 74 manuscripts, 86 incunabula and rare preserved valuable printed works, the oldest dating from the 10th century.
